Introduction

St. Paul Institute for Reproductive Health and Rights (SPIRHR) is dedicated to advancing sexual and reproductive health through research, training, advocacy, and clinical services (TRAC). As part of its mandate to build sustainable professional capacity, SPIRHR operates an accredited CPD Center, which provides specialized training opportunities for health professionals. The SPIRHR CPD Center focuses on equipping health professionals with the skills and tools necessary to translate evidence into practice, strengthen health systems, and address priority reproductive health challenges in Ethiopia and beyond.

SPIRHR CPD Center is pleased to announce a three-day [November 24 -26, 2025] Implementation Research Training. The training is designed to strengthen the capacity of health professionals to apply implementation science methods in bridging the gap between proven evidence and practice towards addressing reproductive and maternal health problems. SPIRHR will recognize and provide financial and technical support including mentorship for selected concept note(s).

Who Can Apply?

  • Health professionals who are actively engaged in teaching, research, or service delivery.

  • Must have completed a pre-requisite course in Implementation Research free online training. Please click on the hyperlink.

  • Must bring a research idea focused on facility-based reproductive health problems.

  • Must commit to three full days of active participation.

  • The training is primarily designed for SPHMMC staff, and three (3) slots are reserved for external researchers or practitioners with strong interest in Implementation Research. Transportation and lodging support will be provided to successful applicants from outside Addis Ababa.

Application Requirements

Applicants should submit:

  • A short statement of interest (max. 300 words).

  • An Updated CV (Maximum 3 pages).

  • Evidence of completion of the Implementation Research pre-requisite course.

  • A 1-page concept note on facility-based reproductive and maternal health problems.
